Journey to Recovery
Road Trauma
Behind every road safety statistic is a person, a family, a colleague, a team member and a community whose lives are changed in an instant.
Australia’s emergency response is world-class, but beyond the crash, people are too often left alone facing confusion, emotional overwhelm, and a fractured system of support. There is no single, trusted national place to turn when it matters most, no answer to “what happens next?”
Road Trauma affects far more than those directly involved. In 2025, there were over 1,300 fatalities and tens of thousands of injuries. For every fatality, there are approximately 30 hospitalised injuries.
Each incident impacts families, workplaces, friends and extended networks. This makes road trauma an issue that touches millions of Australians every year.
“After the crash, everything changed in an instant. There was life before my Dad and life after my Dad.
I felt lost, overwhelmed, and unsure of how to even begin putting my life back together. It wasn’t just the financial cost; it was the emotional weight, the isolation, and the questions no one seemed able to answer.
That’s when ARSF stepped in. Through their commitment to the Journey to Recovery, they gave me something I didn’t realise I needed so deeply: support, direction, and hope. They helped me understand what comes next, connected me with the right people, and reminded me that I wasn’t alone in this.
More than that, they gave me a voice. They empowered me to share my story, to be part of something bigger, and to turn my experience into purpose.
Through ARSF, I found a community that understands, listens, and stands alongside you every step of the way.
Recovery isn’t a straight road, but with the right support, it’s a journey you don’t have to face alone.”
